What the data shows
The nearest Swiss mobile site is 8.4 kilometres from Unteruhldingen according to BAKOM, to the southwest. Within 10 kilometres there are 24 Swiss sites on the other shore. For everyday life at the shore that is not great closeness, but also not a distance that safely keeps your phone from choosing a Swiss network.
What we know, and what we don't
We found no report about the Swiss network on phones in Unteruhldingen. In neighbouring Meersburg, the Schwäbische Zeitung described an expensive case in 2024. Anyone visiting the pile dwellings for the day rarely looks at the network display. That is exactly when the bill arises, which often arrives only weeks later.
How safely your phone stays on the German network in Unteruhldingen is shown by the status bar. If you want to be sure, fix your network.
